Stimulus Check Woes

In an effort to head off any problems you may encounter with your budget, let’s talk about a few things you can do to promote better money budgeting and better cash management in general.

If you’re waiting for your IRS stimulus check, ….don’t. I’ve been waiting for mine for a long time and, in fact, I should have received mine a while ago. The fact is, you can’t be counting on money to simply come to you like this. Plus, we all know there are a million different ways you can be ousted from the stimulus check group. One simple mistake could mean you wouldn’t even get a check and then that money you were counting on will not even exist. That’s why you need to have a cash cushion prepared instead of expecting a cash cushion to slide in your bank account when your funds decide to make a drop. And to show you how unreliable it is to wait for one of these checks, a rough timeline from the beginning of the year would show that we were told we would receive our checks by June because they were going to be shipped out no later than May. Then, around the end of March or the beginning of April, everything was a bit back-scheduled and now our checks would ship out no later than June and we would receive them sometime between June and August. And finally, the latest news shows that you might get it in September…

I’m just waiting for the headline that says mine was cancelled based on my living status, working status, fiscal intake, etc. Think of it this way: There’s always a catch.

So, in summary, I just want you to know that you need to cushion your account with your own funds instead of expecting a Stimulus Check to do it for you. After all, it might not even do that. Be careful! Start budgeting!
